Basically I would like him to be able to set an area where he can get sensory information later remotely--sort of like being able to bug a room and check in later but with a blessing. Doesn't require material components but does require him to physically be at where he wants to set up a field in order to remote in later with his senses. Level of detail for information he can sense is inversely proportional to size of the field he sets, so if it covers a whole room he can maybe only tell if someone enters and exits, but if it's just a small space like a cube around a chair, he can get sounds, smells, texture of whatever moves through that space.
(For funny, if the space is really small, like finger sized, he can connect back through like a ring-cam and communicate with a person who triggered the field?)
