INVITATION

InvitationAs you go about your normal day, your eyes will suddenly come across a sealed letter. Whether you were at a cafe, in the bath at home, in prison, it doesn't matter. The letter is suddenly there right in front of you. If you pick up the letter, you'll see that it's addressed to "Your True Name", a name that no one else should know but you. If you open up the letter to see who would have the context of your name, you'll find something unexpected.

It is an Invitation to join aboard the D.V. Dreamdrift and perform on the Limelight Stage.

"You've been invited to join the performance, and witness the stories of this world unfold. The D.V. Dream Drift welcomes you."

The Limelight Stage is a world-renowned set of mysterious performances where only a select few of the Eight Families would be chosen to join. They say those who participate in these performances will receive an experience of a lifetime! Not only that, they would have access to riches, power, wishes being granted . . . it sounds way too good to be true, and yet the families cannot stop talking about it. Some of the debts of Forge has been cleared away thanks to the work performed by members of the family. Certain apothecaries were given rare and costly products for free thanks to Acidia members performing. Sun Sign has finally experienced a fruitful rainy season, one that they have been waiting for for a very long time, and rumors state that this was because of the members who were invited to the ship.

It doesn't make sense how one Troupe can provide such gifts, but the Families do not seem to question it. Who could blame them?

They've been gone for nearly 30+ days though so it's odd that you are receiving an invitation yourself. I mean why would they need new performers, and more importantly, how are you suppose to get on a ship? Well, once you look up from the letter, you'll see that you're now inside of an elevator, the sound of the ocean flooding your ears.

The doors open and you find yourself stepping onto the stage...

---

When your character arrives, they'll find themselves stepping into the Main Lobby of the ship, greeted by a helpful staff member named Nana. It's easy to be bewildered, after all, you were suddenly whisked away (with no items) and shoved onto a boat (presumably a boat, you'll have to verify that yourself). However, it's well known that the theatrics of the Limelight Stage are supposed to be top-notch so it might not be that much of a shock.

Interacting with other guests might also be confusing. Some might talk about "visions" of a past life you might earn back, some might talk about "violence" and "murder", and some might talk about how "you cannot die at all". A lot of that sounds pretty crazy!

But you have a feeling in your gut, something does feel off about all of this. You can't help but wonder if you should feel a little cautious. Your level of how much you choose to believe them is really up to who you are as a person, but until you experience it, it's likely you'll always have some doubt of the validity of these statements. I mean, who ever heard of a person who cannot die?

That's silly, that only happens in stories.
