BLESSINGS (POWERS/ABILITIES) SUBMISSION
Aug. 5th, 2024 08:33 pmGood day!! I'll explain the process of how choosing powers will go, it's really easy, I promise.
I am going to be honest, I do not have a degree in power and magic balancing. I will like make mistakes! If you find an ability way too limiting, you can come and make that case to me, and I can see if I can adjust it! Does one of your abilities never come up in play or you find it's one you don't find fun to play with? Feel free to come back to your toplevel and ask for an addendum, we can make it work.
The important part is I want people to have powers extend from their character as part of their personality/identity. It's not suppose to be about winning/losing/who is the strongest, etc, and hopefully by letting characters pick their own isntead of from a pre-selected list, it will help to do that!
And so with that siad, I am trusting people to be reasonable if these powers come into play at any time. By that, I mean, if you find yourself in a fight with a character, using powers, don't steamroll the other player without striking a conversation. Be considerate of the other person. Remember, it's important to go with the flow of the fight and see what feels right!
Your character does not need to win all of the time! Your character is not automatically better than anyone else 100% of the time. If you get into an ooc confrontation over who should win when it comes to powers, you must diceroll. I do not care if you have a five paragraph essay as to why your character should win, if the other rper is contesting that for whatever reason, make it fair and do a diceroll! Easy peasy! That said, diceroll is NOT a requirement all the time, it's fair to just see what happens! This is only a requirement if there is an ooc disagreement, if you ask me to settle it for you, I'm going to say "do a diceroll" first and go from there.
I GENUINELY DON'T THINK THIS WILL BE A HUGE ISSUE, my friends are chill and cool, but I am notating this just in case because we know sometimes things get crazy, emotions and excitement can get high, so this is the great neutralizer in those instances, ok? Ok.

• Make sure to read the blessings page. It explains the general principles on how this worlds' "magic" applies.
• In this post, make a top level for your character! You can submit your abilities underneath that toplevel. You do not need to make it overcomplicated if you don't want to! If you want fireballs, just putting down "fireballs" is fine. In fact, PLEASE don't make it overly complicated. Adding limitations and details can be great, especially to give extra flavor, ut if I must sit through eight paragraphs for one ability detailing the formulaic speed of light, I might perish (and more than likely simplify it for you)!
• You can choose up to three abilities!
• You do not have to choose them all right now nor do you need to have them immediately by game start. If you want to drop just one ability now and come back later with the others, that's fine. Characters can develop powers over time!
• Once you comment, I will reply back to your comment, making any specific changes necessary, usually to have them thematically connected whether its to your character's family or to help tie them together so they feel connected to the character.
• I'll also do any balancing if necessary. If it's way too strong, I'll help you scale it down or if it's too simple, I'll add a little more to give you more flavor. Powers should be level 30 on a level 100 scale but you can have stronger powers if you add limitations to it. "Can teleport anywhere but only once a day" or "has supergenius level knowledge but only in regards to cacti".
Announcement as of Sept. 24th: We do ask from this point on, any blessings submitted should be around 200-250 words per blessing, If it gets much larger than that, we reserve the right to reject them and ask to shorten it, SIMPLY PUT, IF IT GETS TOO BIG, WE GET SLOW CUZ WE OVERTHINK TOO MUCH, THIS IS TO HELP US STREAMLINE THE PROCESS A BIT. like obv there are some exceptions (like if you're indecisive between two types of limits or something and describing both) but an ability itself should remain about 2-3 paragraphs or so.

Can powers evolve over time?
SURE. It is not unreasonable to have a character's power being "vine whip" evolving into "thorny vine whip".
I just don't think I should bother putting the power in...

In this world called Estoria, it used to be known that Legends were to be feared. A long time ago, the Estorians would pass down stories of these immortal beings who could never die. Often these stories contained great journeys or tales of adventure, but they could also be stories of love, hate, or violence. Because Estorians loved these stories so much, these heroes were basically worshiped on the same level as any religious figure. These Legends were considered Gods, and with all powerful beings that humans could not understand, they begun to fear and resent these immortal figures.
But Legends are just Legends. Stories. Myths. Eventually, Estorians stopped believing and worshiping these Legends because there was never any proof that these beings existed. An immortal human? Everyone dies though. With no proof, Estorians forgot the fear of gods and the world just kept going.
Although lately, there have been rumors spreading throughout the citizens of Manteau City, home of the largest port in Estoria. Manteau is a bustling town, one of the epicenters of the world so when rumors start here, it begins to trickle out to the rest of the world. No one is sure where those rumors stem from, and no one is brave enough to put it out in the public, but if you ask about it, someone will answer.

Acidia is an organization ran by the Apothecaries, known mostly for their medicinal knowledge and products. Their work has been helpful in healing various diseases and ailments that plague the world, and people's lifespans have expanded thanks to their works. Of course, it isn't just healing that they work on.
They also work on all kinds of chemicals and poisons or any other things that can harm the body. Harming and healing are two sides of the same coin, to heal the harm, and to harm the healthy, these are all things they want to know and work on.
The Apothecaries themselves have a duality in reputation which matches their beliefs and work. For many of them, they believe all humans have a right to live as long as they can, to finish their purpose before they reach death. They don't believe in immortality, in fact they loathe it, but they want to showcase just what "life" can do even with the finality of death looming. The more "poisonous" fellows of the company are often filled with grudges that they can carry for a lifetime. They make sure to fulfill any promises.
They simply love the concept of life in all ways which when you realize "all ways" literally means all ways, you realize why some of them might be a little dangerous.
Icon: Flowers. Whether it's a bright floral print or a flower in their hair or jacket pocket, flowers are always worn by them in some shape or form.
Fashion/Style: Generally loose flowing clothing, robes are a popular thing, you could mistake them for a fictional magician or wizard, glasses are common, hair tied up/on the longer side is common.

☆ CIRRUS NETWORK
The Cirrus Network are the ones who bring news of the weather to everyone's daily lives. Of course, they also are responsible for just the daily news in general. Actually, they are pretty much responsible for all information in general. Newspapers, news channels, even social media networks tend to be part of the giant pot of Cirrus. A majority of the people who work here are part of The Atmosphere, a group you wouldn't expect to be responsible for the news.
You see, the Atmosphere Ensemble are said to be fortune tellers of a sort. The reason they can tell the weather is that they can read the signs that are given to them and build off of the knowledge they already had, and thus become the center of all information.
Many of them are highly intelligent and not much for socializing (not necessarily all), but that doesn't mean they are awkward with everything social. No, they function well in presentation and image and can mingle as required, it's just their preference is to read the clouds and listen to their own thoughts. This group is also actually the type to be very close to one another. There is some sense of loyalty to one another even if they do not always like each other.
Icon: A brooch, hairpin, or some kind of jewelry of their favorite weather icon. You'll often see cloud or sun pins, some rain, sometimes even things like fire or a tornado.
Fashion/Style: Many wear business casual, suits, pencil skirts over flowy (although some people do prefer to be comfortable). Button ups over t-shirts, turtlenecks over crop tops. You will almost always never see sneakers. Some of them will prefer to rely on neutral tones with accents of their organization color.

That's why it shouldn't be a surprise that most of their influence is regards to all forms of travel and transportation. Not only do they facilitate and assist travelers with the trips they wish to take, most of them were the primary reason for important vessels to be built, ships, airboats, vehicles, even smaller objects like bicycles and tricycles. Heck, they also have a large shoe brand.
It's no surprise then that the Astrologists are often said to be active, energetic folk who are usually laidback and casual in the way they deal with things. Even the shy ones are ones to watch out for because deep down, once they're comfortable, you'll see that burning passion within them.
Icon: Star tattoos or stickers. Each star or tattoo is a mark of achievement, the more you have, the more of a "star" you are personally.
Fashion/Style: Color is a priority in their fashion. They love print and wearing loud, unique clothing. Asymmetry is pretty popular, and the more accessories, the better. However, they also dabble in anything considered fun. Amusement parks, board games, casinos, you'll likely see that Siren's Melodies have some stake in the companies.
Despite the elitist energy that the Arias seem to carry, they actually tend to be very friendly with others. Perhaps it's because the industry trains them to respect and treat their fans well, but also a lot of them genuinely enjoy just helping people and cheering them up. After being in the spotlight and the center for so long, they enjoy playing the support role when they can. It lets them experience a "normal" life.
Some of them can definitely be elitist though.
Whatever the case, most of them have strong charisma, but even the ones that don't, they tend to be good at what they do as support, whether as a producer or a manager. It's rare to find someone in this family that doesn't strive for SOMETHING.

The alchemists are hard working individuals who wish to create and invent. Out of all the organizations, they might be seen as the most reclusive of the bunch. And just because they are reclusive doesn't mean they are secretive! They're very straightforward. They're just not the type to fuss and find the political nonsense of the world obnoxious. Independent by nature, but more inclined to rely on one another than the other organizations, this is how they tend to bond as a family.
To be honest, it might be for the best that they tend to be the reclusive bunch. For the few alchemists that do care about the political side of things, they tend to be truly conniving in a way that's scary to imagine. They can be direct and forceful (by being physical) and they always, always, always want to achieve their final product. Because they care so much about creation, they sell a lot of their creations, production is a major part of their field. They run like merchants, selling whatever they create whether its through mining or farming or fishing or smaller inventions.
In fact, that is their main ideal. Unlike the Sun Sign, they don't care so much about the journey, they care about what they create in the end. The good side is that you know that they'll always accomplish what they set out to do. The bad side is that some of them do not care the method, they will find a way to get what they want

For the Angelic, fastidious worship, one that follows rules and following the path is the way to salvation. When there is too much chaos, it puts pressure on those who feel like they don't have enough support.
The Holy Order truly is normally VERY supportive of one another. This isn't just a phony pretense, they genuinely do tend to care for one another as much as they can. They struggle to be more open, because they do not wish to burden others with their troubles, but if they manage, they find that the others do wish to assist and help them where they can.
Because they are so good at order, you'll find that a lot of them are responsible for the laws of the government in this world.
Icon: Light. Literally neon lights. Glowing symbols on their skin, neon lining on their clothes, they will have some sort of bright light on their person, even if it's something out there like light-up cat ear headphones.

☆ THE UNHOLY DISORDER
The Holy Order and the Unholy Disorder was an organization that split into two. They both believe in the same divine but the perception of what it means to "believe" was divided into two separate ideals. For the Averse, they believed that one cannot believe in their divine if sins did not exist. After all, you cannot be forgiven if sins weren't committed.
Now there's a common misconception that the Averse are a group of criminals because they broke away from the "rule followers" but every organization can have criminals within them. For the Averse, it's more like they do tend to follow their own self-imposed rules, but it doesn't necessarily mean to harm others in the process. They want to see people strive to be better (in more ways than one). You'll find teachers, therapists, life coaches, maybe even beauty artists who enjoy making tutorials on youtube, that's the range of improvement you can find here.
Eonia is the newest of the eight families, mostly making up of members of the Forge and Cirrus Network. They found that they were more interested in watching the effects of time passing and the changes that affect what's in front of them. They especially loved to watched as these changes affected people. Wanting to watch this process is what caused the original split. Originally their motto had included "how to prepare for the future" because they've seen what changes can lead to, but as the family morals developed, that's when they realized, they didn't want to prepare the future. They wanted to help shape the future.

LOCATIONS / THE WORLD

If you need to access any of the floors, you have to go through the elevators. There are at least 10 or so elevators that you can access at all times, creating an intimidating and uncanny image. But at least no one will have to wait for an open elevator for too long! Right?
At the moment, only three floors are accessible. The ground floor, the second floor, and the third floor. The higher the number, the lower into the ship you go.
✨THE LOBBY

There's nothing too fancy here to note except there is one singular window where you can peek out and see that you are in fact on a boat. You can see the ocean and the sky, finding out what the weather is like that day.
✨THUNDERSNAP LOUNGE

Through the lobby you find yourself in a hallway, with an open archway there's a sign stating "The Thundersnap Lounge" overhead. If you walk through the archway, it leads you down a tunnel that gets darker and darker as you descend. Lights begin to illuminate the floor, the darker it becomes, creating a comfy atmosphere.
Sitting along one edge of the ship, sitting so low that the windows are sunken beneath the ocean and the only things to look at are the fishes that stream past, is the Thundersnap Lounge. This lounge is warm and dimly-lit, relying on a cozy fireplace for a large part of the light, and assisted with the other parts by candles and small lanterns at the booths and tables spread around the room.
At the center of the lounge is where you order; basic alcoholic drinks can be found and made here, with the bartender's promise that more extensive menus will be available in the future. There's also simple juices and water here, with the occasional tea and coffee brewing.
There's also some food on the menu, however, it's only appetizers. You will not find a steak, but you can eat all the meatballs you want. If it's reasonably considered an appetizer it'll be available here!

A store for all kinds of skin care, beauty, and more! If you are needing any products to help clean yourself and make yourself fancy, this is the place to get your goods. For basic makeup, shampoo, soap, it's all available here.
However, there is a section where you can actually buy and even make perfumes that act more like potions that can affect others...

✨HEALING BATHHOUSE

Entering the bathhouse is simple; there's a wooden gate on this floor where, if you push your way inside, is a simple reception desk and two doors; one leads to a little space where you can pick up bathing supplies and get changed in a stall, and the other leads right into the baths.
It's illuminated by the windows where you can look out into the open sky above the ocean, natural light pouring in, keeping the room at a comfortable temperature.
Being in the water here is relaxing and healing . . . literally! For whatever reason, if you find yourself injured, there are specific baths locked away where it's noted that the waters seem to help accelerate any healing that's needed. There's even a sign notating this on the wall, letting you know the healing properties of the water is true and real.
Wonder why that's a thing, huh!!!

✨RAGE ROOM

Ever heard of a rage room? It's a place where you can take a sledgehammer and use it on broken down machinery and objects to help relieve any stress or rage that you might have. It's cathartic and just fun to be free to smash things with no remorse or fear of consequence. Axes, hammers, iron maces, bats, all kinds of weapons can be found here.
For the mechanically inclined, you can perhaps pilfer some of the objects that aren't so smashed up and repair them. Tvs, blenders, washing machines, etc. It might take a bit to find the parts to repair them though, but it can be a fun project!!
TO KEEP ANY OBJECTS FROM THE RAGE ROOM, YOU MUST UNLOCK IT. YES, THIS INCLUDES WEAPONS.
✨QUEEN'S PATH
Through this archway, it goes up and up and up until you find yourselves on the upper decks of the ship, opening out into the fresh air, and there, you'll find a... giant water park!

Since you can't exactly swim in the ocean... well. There are pools for chilling, wave pools, hot tubs, laned pools for swimming laps, and of course... water slides. Dozens of them crest overhead, in bright colours with water streaming down them. Sometimes the climb up is quite a lot, so only those who aren't afraid of heights should consider those.
Some of the rides have names (the Guzzler) (The Stinker) (The Potato), and look like they're a nausea event waiting to happen... but they're definitely going to be fun. A thrill, even. Unless you hate water slides, in which chase, it'll probably just be torture.
One of them includes a long, transparent drop down the side of the ship. You'll have to take an elevator back up, but this long ride offers a great view of the ocean, especially since it takes you beneath the surface a brief way...
You will often find crabs in party hats enjoying their time here, and there are strict rules not to eat the crab guests. If you are a crab eater, you may go dine in the cafes or restaurants available here.

✨PRIVACY POOLS

If the amusement park is too noisy, there's a small building on the side for you to rest in. The luxurious indoor pool is pristine, clear, and surrounded by reclining chairs. Like most pools in existence, there's a shallow end for tip-toeing about, and a much deeper end that's marked by the diving board.
You can also find there are tables where you can set up parties, a place where you can play music, karaoke, and more.
It's a great place to host parties but also get away from the bustling craziness that's the park.

✨THE INDOOR GARDENS

However, not ALL flowers can be located here. And yet, there is a place where you can garden your own plants if that's the hobby you enjoy, tools, straw hats, and overalls included! You can even find personal rooms that you can lock up so you can make sure no one will ruin and destroy the garden you worked so hard to keep up.
"Wait, how long will we be on the cruise, doesn't it take a while for plants to grow?"
Yeah, huh! What's up with that!
